Musician Jaguar has refuted rumours that he was involved in the killing of a young man in Ziwani.

According to the Kigeugeu singer, he had visited Ziwani to distribute car wash equipment to the youth when a commotion started at the hall where he was hosting the ceremony.

“I was not there when the boy was killed, but I spoke to the family and even facilitated the transportation of his body from Nairobi to Kisumu. I just hope that justice will be done and the killers arrested,” Jaguar told Heads Up.

However, according to police reports, the man was killed by a mob after he grabbed money that had allegedly been given out by the musician.

According to locals and the police, a leader of the group grabbed the money and ran away as others pursued him. He was later found dead after being beaten.

Nairobi police boss Japheth Koome said they are investigating the incident.
