Two Kiambu MCA aspirants have gone missing just two days to Jubilee Party primaries slated for this Friday.

Ikinu ward aspirant Kenneth Kinyanjui was hijacked by unknown people on Monday night as he went to his father's home.

His vehicle, a white Toyota Allion, was found vandalised near his home. It had broken windscreen and windows. Nothing was stolen from him as two of his phones, a cap and specs were found intact in the car.

The aspirant's father, John Kamau, said he was called by some boda boda riders at around 11pm and notified him that his son had been kidnapped by unknown people.

"I do not know the motive behind the kidnapping but I just hope it is not as a result of politics. He is the most popular candidate in the race and I fear some people may want to harm him," said Mr Kamau.

He called on the police to hasten their investigations to establish his whereabouts.

Angry residents chanting pro-Kinyanjui slogans demonstrated along Kiria-Ikinu road. They vowed not to participate in the nominations if he is not found by Friday.

In Juja, police are investigating the disappearance of Margaret Wanjiru Kibe, the Kalimoni ward aspirant who went missing on Monday.

According to the aspirant's husband, Perminus Thumbi, Ms Wanjiru left the house early on Monday morning to meet her supporters outside their gate at Gathima along Kenyatta Road but never returned.

"Before she went to meet her supporters, she had told me she wanted to campaign within the neighbourhood. We had even arranged how my brothers and I with the assistance of some friends would hold a campaign caravan in her support at Juja Farm," said Mr Thumbi.

He said he last talked to the wife when she called to find out how the caravan campaign had gone.

Thumbi said he waited for his wife up to 11pm and on calling her mobile phone, it had been switched off.

The matter was reported at Juja Police Station. A police source said the aspirant's last call was traced to Gitithia in Uplands, Lari constituency.

Juja OCPD Patricia Nasio said the matter was being investigated.
