President Uhuru could not contain his laughter as he was entertained by students at the Kisumu State Lodge on Tuesday.
He was particularly impressed by a six-year old kindergarten child, Georgina Atieno from St Kizito ECDE, who presented a solo verse Long'i Ya baba (Dad's Trousers).
In the poem written by Norich Shikuku, the persona is full of praise for the father's trouser that will never fail to provide for the family unlike the mother's pouch that contains nothing but beauty products.
"Hata long'i ya Uhuru ni juu," she said to the amusement of the President and other guests.
A student from Narok Teachers Training College, armed with a rungu (club) was perhaps the toast of the day when he presented a comic relief titled Political Speeches.
He made fun of the ongoing construction of the Standard Gauge Railway in relation to the water hyacinth in Lake Victoria.
"When I am elected, I would like the SGR to reach Kisumu so that I can bring by cattle via the railway from Narok to come and graze on the water hyacinth and finish the job," he joked.
