Sunday is the day that's all about me, my family and home.
Once I am up, I will either convince my husband to make a big breakfast or we throw on some sweats and walk to our local coffee shop Wasp&Sprout for some brunch. Marek always has a Bloody Mary and I get a sparkling orange juice. Then we'll buy fruit from the roadside and walk the long way home through the neighbourhood.
Sunday is the perfect day and falls at the perfect time at the end of the week when you've had it with life. There should be two Sundays back to back every week.
What I love most about Sundays is that I don't need to dress up or wear makeup. I mostly spend the day with my loved ones and they don't care how I look. Also, I really don't feel the need to answer my phone or email on Sundays.
What I don't like about Sundays is the moment I start to panic at 10 pm over all the work I didn't do and how I'm going to suffer for it on Monday. It's like school days all over again.
No food is off-limits on Sundays. You can drink wine all day, cook everything in the fridge, order delivery, eat sweet treats or all the above. Calories don't count on Sunday.
I could probably be more physically active on Sundays and do some hikes or exercise but lazing around generally wins every time.
Sunday activities with family include tending to my house plants and our vegetable garden. It's the only time I get to really focus and take care of them properly. I'll pass by my parent's house in the afternoon to hang out with my mom, siblings and nephew. Sometimes I even force myself to watch sports with my dad. There's nothing like family to restore your heart and soul. Back at our house, Sunday night is always movie night. We'll watch as many movies as it takes to distract us from the Monday blues.
My husband is the social coordinator in our house so whatever he's in the mood for that week is what we listen to. Because of his job, I get to listen to a lot of Sauti Sol demos and unreleased material.
